Clinical Scholar Program

The MUSC Hollings Cancer Center Clinical Scholar program is an exciting opportunity for clinically and research active M.D.s and M.D./Ph.D.s in a range of cancer-related specialties.

Hollings’ continued leadership in academic medicine depends on its faculty’s ability to balance the interconnected roles of healers, teachers, and investigators. By fostering the careers of junior physician-scientists and enabling state-of-the-art cancer relevant research, this program aims to facilitate breakthrough discoveries that directly improve clinical care of cancer patients.

The Hollings Cancer Center Clinical Scholar program is specifically intended to provide dedicated time to focus on cancer-related clinical investigations for outstanding assistant professors or recently appointed (less than two years) associate professors. Clinical Scholars will receive 20% salary funding for up to two years and an additional $5,000 in discretionary funding for research-related purposes.
