HCC Clinical Scholar Program

The Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) Clinical Scholar Program is an exciting new opportunity for clinically and research active MDs and MD/PhDs spanning a range of cancer-related specialties. The HCC’s continued leadership in academic medicine depends on its faculty’s ability to balance the interconnected roles of healers, teachers, and investigators. By fostering the careers of junior and senior physician-scientists and enabling state-of-the-art cancer relevant research this program aims to facilitate breakthrough discoveries that directly improve clinical care of cancer patients.

The HCC Clinical Scholar Program is specifically intended to provide outstanding Assistant, Associate, and full Professors dedicated time to focus on cancer-related clinical investigations. Clinical Scholars will receive 20% salary funding for up to two years and an additional $5,000 in discretionary funding for research-related purposes.

Eligibility: All MDs and MD/PhDs at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level who treat cancer patients and wish to focus on clinical cancer research are eligible to apply for a Clinical Scholar Award.

Applications for are now being accepted through July 31, 2017 for the 2017-2018 academic year.
